Children's Ministry

Jesus said, ‘Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.’  Mark 10:15

Children are members of the Body of Christ; they are the Church of today, not the Church of tomorrow, and are always welcome at Christ Church – at any service.

Including weekly Chapel services for Christ Church Grammar School, children account for around one-third of all attendances at Christ Church. It is a ministry at the heart of our mission to the community.

We have several regular offerings that provide specifically for families with young children.

Sunday School

Sunday School takes place during the 10am Choral Eucharist every Sunday during school term times. We welcome children from babes in arms to upper primary level, and any parents who wish to accompany their children, to participate.

Kids’ Church

On Good Friday at 12noon and on Christmas Eve at 4pm, age-appropriate services are offered which make it easy for families to connect with these major Christian festivals. Typically 40 minutes in length, ‘Kids’ Church’ incorporates creative story-telling, approachable music, and the use of images and symbols.

Admission to Holy Communion and Confirmation

Each year there is an opportunity for children to be prepared for Admission to Holy Communion (First Communion) and/or Confirmation. If you would like to know more about what is involved in these rites of passage, please contact the Parish Office and ask to speak with one of the clergy.
